The Amrut distillery was founded in 1948 as Amrut Laboratories. Established by Shri J N Radhakrishna, the company started blending and bottling various alcoholic beverages. Portonova starts life in a combination of new American oak and bourbon barrels, before being transferred into refill port pipes and then back into bourbon casks.
