Here we have an 8 eight year old single malt whisky which has been initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels, it was then treated to a period in Oloroso sherry octave casks which has imparted lots of sherry influence. The smaller octave casks vastly increase the surface area to volume ratio compared to the much larger standard sherry casks.
